Cortland is a classic apple first introduced in New York in 1915, a cross of ‘Ben Davis’ and ‘McIntosh’. It bears medium-sized, bright red fruit with a lively, slightly tangy flavor. Its white flesh resists browning after slicing, making it a favorite for salads and fresh eating as well as pies and sauce.
